It is common to see that during a hospital stay, the focus is centred around pregnancy and labour, followed with a strong focus on initiating breastfeeding to stimulate milk production. However, once at home, there’s a noticeable absence of support and it can be very overwhelming.
Sleep training a newborn is not recommended, but meeting your baby’s needs effectively can foster better sleep habits, resulting in a consistently content baby and providing parents with the crucial time they need to rest and recover.
Carmel, Baby Sleep Consultant and Founder of Calm Babies can offer the following options for newborn home visits.
Carmel will visit your home and demonstrate an appropriate ‘feed-play-sleep’ schedule. She will also observe baby’s sleep environment and make recommendations and provide advice on any feeding or lactation queries you may have.
You will also receive access to the Calm Babies Sleep Guide and be taken through in detail everything you need to know to help your baby thrive and provide you with confidence to identify what your baby’s needs are, including the Calm Babies signature bedtime time routine.
Following the in-home consult, you will receive 5 days of UNLIMITED phone support with Carmel between the hours of 7am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.
You will then have access to Carmel for three months post visit for any follow-up questions, available between the hours of 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
Carmel arrives just as “witching hour” begins and provides a hands-on demonstration of her signature bedtime routine. This includes feeding and effective bathing techniques to help your baby settle in for a longer stretch of sleep. As part of this visit, Carmel will also observe baby’s sleep environment and make recommendations. Carmel is also able to provide advice on any feeding or lactation queries you may have.
